Understands ACEs

Updated: Feb 25, 2021

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) This can include things like physical and emotional abuse, neglect, caregiver mental illness, and household violence prior to your 18th birthday. The more ACEs a child experiences, the more likely they are to suffer on both an emotional and physical level. The excessive activation of our stress response system can lead to long lasting wear-and-tear on the body and the brain. Here at Real Life Counseling we instill hope and gentle understanding when acknowledging any trauma a child has experienced. Through counseling, reducing family stress, providing both children and adults with responsive relationships, and strengthening core life skills we can collectively prevent and counteract lasting harm. It would be an honor to sit down with you to hear more about your unique story and join you on the journey of healing! Libby King is offering telehealth and in person services, book an appointment with her today!
